6" Carved, Que Sera Stone Skull
This is an absolutely beautiful, polished and carved skull made out of Que Sera stone from Brazil. Both the sculpting and polished of this skull are quite intricate. The underside of the skull and the nostrils have been hollowed-out, making the specimen closer in resemblance to a real skull.
Que sera stone is a trade name for unique varieties of rhyolite (a volcanic rock with high silica content) known for striking, opalescent, blue quartz phenocrysts that seem to glow in the sunlight. It is found exclusively in Brazil but is very similar in appearance and composition to Llanite found in Texas. The stones contain a variety of minerals, including quartz, feldspar, kaolinite, iron oxides, magnetite, clinozoisite, and leucozene.
