This is a colorful 3.4" tall polished rhyolite specimen which has been shaped and polished into an egg, collected from Australia. Rhyolite is a group of extrusive igneous rocks, typically consisting of large-grained crystals such as feldspar or quartz dispersed in a fine-grained silicate rich rock.
