10" Hollowed-Out, Que Sera Stone Skull
This is a beautiful, polished and hollowed-out skull made out of Que Sera stone from Brazil. The entire interior of the skull and the nasal passages have been hollowed out, resulting in a realistic resemblance to a skull.
Que sera stone is a trade name for unique varieties of rhyolite (a volcanic rock with high silica content) known for striking, opalescent, blue quartz phenocrysts that seem to glow in the sunlight. It is found exclusively in Brazil but is very similar in appearance and composition to Llanite found in Texas. The stones contain a variety of minerals, including quartz, feldspar, kaolinite, iron oxides, magnetite, clinozoisite, and leucozene.
