Large Plate of Paleocene Leaf Fossils - Montana

This is a plate with two large and beautifully preserved fossil leafs from the Fort Union Formation of Montana. It is from the Paleocene, or approximately 60 million years old. The dark orange preservation of the leaf fossil contrasts well against the lighter shale, and all the veins of the leaf can be seen in good relief.

Both the leaves are Beringiaphyllum cupanoides, with the larger leaf being 3.7" tall and the smaller one 2.6". They both have a lot of detail. The entire plate is 12x5.7" and weighs about 7 lbs. Comes with a display stand.
