11.35" Wide Plate with Four Fossil Leaves (Two Species) - Montana
These are four fossil leaves (two species) from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The rock contains one Davidia antiqua leaf (#5) and three Beringiaphyllum cupanoides leaves (#30). The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection.
This specimen includes an acrylic-metal display stand.
