.7" Fossil Crane Fly (Tipulidae) with Wings - Green River Formation

This is a 1.6" wide piece of shale featuring a beautifully detailed crane fly (family Tipulidae) with wings, collected from the Green River Formation of Utah. While the Green River Formation is best know for its fish fossils, other areas produce incredible plant fossils and insect fauna.
