6.1" Fossil Leaf (Zizyphoides) Plate - Montana
This is a plate containing two fossil leaves (Zizyphoides flabellum) from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in these leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of it flaked onto the negative during collection. The larger leaf measures 3.1" wide, and the smaller is 1.6 long.
