3.5" Fossil Horse (Mesohippus) Upper Jaw Section - South Dakota

This is an upper jaw section with six teeth from the primitive horse Mesohippus bairdi, collected from the White River Formation in Pennington County, South Dakota. It is Oligocene in age, or approximately 32 million years old.

There are two repaired cracks through the jaw.
