1.05" Fossil Horse (Mesohippus) Jaw Section - South Dakota

This is a jaw section with two teeth from the primitive horse Mesohippus, from the Scenic Member of the Brule Formation in South Dakota. This has two layers of teeth meaning one is likely an unerupted pair: this jaw likely belonged to a juvenile! It is Oligocene in age, or approximately 32 million years old.
