10.2" Plate with Four Fossil Leaves (Three Species) - Montana
These are four fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The plate consists of one leaf each of Macginitiea nobilis and Davidia antiqua, and two Zizyphoides flabellum leaves. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection.
