10.7" Plate Of Ordovician Brittle Stars (Ophiura) - Morocco
This is six fossil brittle stars (Ophiura) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The bright orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. The largest brittle star is 5.3" wide. There are a few repaired cracks running through the rock.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
