This is a 5.5" wide fossil brittle star (Ophiura sp.)
associated with a large carpoid (Unidentified) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.
Both the positive and negative splits of the fossil is included. It comes with an acrylic display stand.
