5.8" Detailed Ordovician Brittle Star (Ophiura) - Morocco
This is a very nice, 5.8" wide, fossil brittle star (Ophiura sp.) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
There are a couple repaired cracks through the rock/fossil and half of one arm has been restored.
