9" Fossil Tortoise (Stylemys) - Wyoming

This is a beautiful, 9" tortoise (Stylemys nebrascensis) from the Brule Formation in Wyoming. It is inflated and has undergone some crushing as a result of geologic processes during fossilization. Some of the plates along the edges have been repaired and remounted back to the shell.
