7.85" Plate with Five Fossil Leaves (Three Species) - Montana

These are two fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The plate consists of three Zizyphoides flabellum leaves and one each of Davidia antiqua and Archeampelos acerifolia. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection. Many partial impressions of both leaves and coniferous needles can be found on the reverse side.

This specimen includes an acrylic-metal display stand.
