6.2" Fossil Running Rhino (Hyracodon) Jaw Section - South Dakota

This is a 6.2" wide mandible (left side) section from a juvenile running rhino (Hyracodon nebraskensis). It was collected from the the Brule Formation in South Dakota and would be approximately 30-33 million years old. There are four preserved teeth still embedded in the jaw.

It is accompanied by the pictured display stand.

There are several repaired cracks through this jaw with some significant gap fill where the bone was missing upon excavation.
