4.1" Fossil Leaf (Cedrelospermum & Populus) Plate - Utah

This is a 4.1" wide slab of shale containing two fossil leaves. The largest is a poplar (Populus wilmattae) leaf, preserved alongside a Cedrelospermum nervosum leaf; a species of plant classified within the Ulmaceae family, which includes modern trees like elm and hackberry. This specimen was collected from the Green River Formation in Utah.

Comes with an acrylic display stand.

While the Green River Formation is best known for its fish fossils from Wyoming, other areas produce incredible plant fossils.
