2.6" Ordovician Cephalopod (Pachendoceras) - Missouri
This is a 2.6" cephalopod (Pachendoceras sp.) from the Ordovician aged Gasconde Formation in Missouri. The preservation is fairly nice on this cool little specimen. This type of cephalopod is related to the modern Nautilus. There appears to be the ends of two other cephalopod shells protruding from the rock beneath the primary Pachendoceras.
