2.3" Illaenus Tauricornis Trilobite - Russia

This is a 2.3" long example of the Middle Ordovician trilobite Illaenus tauricornis. It comes from the Vilpovitsy quarry near St. Petersburg, Russia and is nicely prepared. The genal spines have been prepared free of the surrounding limestone.

Like nearly all of the trilobites from these quarries there is some shell restoration where the shell fractured during collection. There is a bit on the top of it's head, middle of the tail and along repaired cracks and part of the right genal spine.
