.42" Fossil Beetle (Carabidae) Elytron - Bois d’Asson, France

This is a fossil beetle (order Coleoptera, family Caribidae) elytron (wing sheath) collected from the Oligocene-aged deposits of Bois d'Asson, France. The light-brown preservation contrasts nicely against rock. Both sides of the impression are on the plate. This is part of an old collection that we recently acquired.

This specimen comes with an acrylic display stand.
