13" Ordovician Brittle Star (Ophiura & Stenaster) Plate With Crinoid
This is a plate of fossil brittle stars (Ophiura sp.) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. The dark orange coloration is due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. There are 7 brittle stars of the genus Ophiura, one which is likely of the genus Stenaster, as well as an unidentified crinoid. Really a cool seafloor association from the Ordovician.
