13.4" Wide Plate with Six Fossil Leaves (Three Species) - Montana

These are six fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The plate consists of two leaves of the species Ziziphoides flabellum, one of Davidia antiqua, and three of Beringiaphyllum cupanoides. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection.

This specimen includes a metal display stand.
