12.2" Stunning Double-Sided Fossil Leaf Plate - Montana

This is an incredible find: a fantastically preserved, double-sided fossil leaf plate from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. One side contains a massive, five-lobed Macginitiea gracilis leaf, and the other contains seven leaves of the species Zizyphoides flabellum, Davidia antiqua, and Beringiaphyllum cupanoides. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection. A stunning addition to anyones fossil collection!

This specimen includes an acrylic-metal display stand.
