12.1" Wide Plate with Five Fossil Leaves - Montana
These are five fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The rock contains two Zizyphoides flabellum leaves (#1), a Celtis asperum leaf (#2), a Davidia antiqua leaf (#5) and a Beringiaphyllum cupanoides leaf (#30). The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaf can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection.
This specimen includes an acrylic/metal display stand.

#2 - Celtis asperum (1.4" long)
