10.35" Plate with Three Fossil Leaves (Three Species) - Montana
These are three fossil leaves from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The plate consists of two Davidia antiqua leaves and one leaf each of Beringiaphyllum cupanoides and Macginitiea nobilis. The dark orange/brown preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves where pieces of them flaked onto the negative during collection. A partial Macginitiea spm leaf can also be found on the reverse side.
This specimen includes an acrylic-metal display stand.
