This is a 1.6" fossil shrimp (Peachocaris strongi), preserved in an ironstone nodule from the Carbondale Formation near Astoria, Illinois. This specimen includes the positive (convex) and the negative (concave) sides of the fossil, each of which is accompanied by an acrylic display stand.
