This is a 1.65" fossil shrimp (Kallidecthes richardsoni), preserved in an ironstone nodule from the Carbondale Formation near Essex, Illinois. This specimen includes the positive (convex) and the negative (concave) sides of the fossil, each of which is accompanied by an acrylic display stand.
