3.1" Free-Standing Polished Pink Beryl (Morganite) - Western Australia

This is a 3.1" wide section of a massive morganite formation collected near Norseman, Western Australia. It has been cut flat and polished to a glossy finish on one side, and the base has been cut flat for free-standing presentation.

Morganite is a pink variety of beryl that is also known as "pink beryl". It earns its color from manganese(II) cations within the crystal lattice. Often these crystals contain yellow or orange coloration, sometimes presenting a variety of colors in banded fashion.
