2.5" Realistic Polished Oolite (Pisolite) Bear with Fish - Colorado
This is a fun, 2.5" long polished bear sculpted from Colorado oolite (pisolite). The stone has been meticulously shaped and polished to create this unique piece. A small fish of the same material can be seen in its mouth, as though it were just freshly snatched up from a stream.
It stands up nicely on a flat surface.

An oolite is a sedimentary rock made up of ooids, which are spherical grains of calcium carbonate or other minerals that are cemented together. Ooids are usually less than 2 millimeters in diameter, and rocks made up of larger grains are called pisolites. Oolite is often found in limestone and is formed in shallow, wave-agitated marine waters. Oolite can be used to study past ocean conditions, such as water depth, salinity, and climate.
