2.35" Polished Spiderweb Jasper Egg - Oregon

This is a gorgeous, 2.35" tall polished egg of spiderweb jasper collected from the Heppner area of northeastern Oregon. The entire egg has been polished to a mirror finish by one of the best polishers around. There is some spot that flaked off near the top of the egg, that has been glued back in place.

Comes with an acrylic ring display stand.

Spiderweb jasper is the name for an olive green and red-brown rhyolite that is found in eastern Oregon. Open cavities can be found throughout this rhyolite, often making the polishing process difficult. Sometimes these cavities are filled with white-colorless or blue agate. It is described as having the appearance of leaves that have fallen onto a spiderweb, likely where the name came from.
