SERICHO PALLASITE METEORITES FOR SALE
Sericho meteorites are found in a 45-kilometer long strewn field in Isolo County in eastern Kenya. This meteorite was officially named in 2016, though local villagers had been aware of it for some time. Several thousand kilograms of Sericho pallasite have been recovered since its discovery.
Sericho pallasite has well-rounded, gemmy olivine crystals crystals varying in color from green to orange. Often the metal-rich areas of the Sericho pallasite show well-developed Widmanstätten patterns. One unique aspect of the Sericho pallasite is its particularly high olivine crystal density, as high as 70-80% in many specimens. It is quite attractive, particularly when sliced thin enough for the olivine crystals to be translucent, and is very popular among collectors.
