ADMIRE PALLASITE METEORITES FOR SALE
The first documented piece of this meteor was collected in 1881 by a farmer plowing his field near the city of Admire in Lyon County, Kansas. Approximately 180 kilograms were initially recovered, but more recent discoveries bring the total, known mass to about 2 metric tons. Pallasites are one of the rarest types of iron-rich meteorites, and the Admire pallasite contains a mixture of olivine crystals and nickel-iron metal in approximately equal amounts. Thin slicing of these pallasites shows off the olivine's (forsterite) translucency beautifully when backlit.
