This is two fossil fern (Macroneuropteris) leaflets, from the Breathitt Formation, Leslie County, Kentucky. The largest is 1.0" and the smaller is .7". Macroneuropteris is an extinct family of seed ferns from the Late Carboniferous, Pennsylvanian aged forests that formed the coal shales of Kentucky and Ohio.
