2.05" Paleocene Fossil Samara (Acer) - North Dakota
This is a beautiful fossil samara (winged fruit) of a species of maple (Acer sp.), collected from the Sentinel Butte Formation of North Dakota. It is finely detailed and the light preservation contrasts well against the dark orangish-brown rock. The plate also contains an unidentified seed pod.
