Top Quality Drotops Trilobite - 4.6"
At 4.6" the trilobite Drotops megalomanicus can get larger than this specimen, but they certainly don't come much nicer. The quality of preservation and preparation on this specimen is exquisite. The natural multi-toned shell preservation which occurs on some trilobites from this locality is particularly striking.
All of the tubercles, bumps and eye facets can easily be seen. The matrix surrounding it has been prepared so that it it perched on a pedestal of limestone in a slightly arched position. This specimen has almost no shell restoration, just a few small patches (<1%) along the repair crack running through the tail and left side of body from when it was found in cross section. You won't be disappointed with this trilobite.
