16" Plate Of Ordovician Brittle Stars (Ophiura) & Carpoids - Morocco

This is three fossil brittle stars (Ophiura) from the Kataoua Formation of Morocco. It is Ordovician in age, approximately 450 million years old. The bright orange coloration is natural and due to the oxidization of iron pyrite. The largest brittle star is 4.9" wide. In addition to the brittle star, this specimen contains twelve unidentified carpoids and an unidentified crinoid. This specimen has a repaired crack.

It comes with an acrylic display stand.
