Three Devil Horned Cyphaspis Trilobites - Mrakib, Morocco
This is a cluster of three trilobites (Cyphaspis walteri) from the Bou Dib Formation at Mrakib, Morocco. Two specimens are preserved dorsally and one is preserved ventrally. Both of the dorsal specimens have free-standing spines. There is about 1-2% restoration along repaired cracks.
This species of Cyphaspis is sometimes referred to as the "Devil Horn" Cyphaspis for obvious reasons. This species was finally formally described in 2014. A link to the paper can be found below.
