Stalk Eyed Asaphus kowalewskii Healed Bite

Here is an example of the stalk eyed Asaphus species from Russia, Asaphus kowalewskii. Not only is it one of the more cool looking trilobites out there but it also has a pathology on the end of the pygidium (tail). Probably a healed bite mark.

Like almost all Asaphus trilobites from Morocco this one does have some restoration. Most dealers either don't know about the restoration done or won't mention it. There is a crack through the tail and up the right side of the trilobite which was restored. There is minor restoration at the base of both eye stalks and mid way up the right eye stalk. There are also a few small spots on a few segments on the left hand side. Approximately 10% restoration total.
