Seven Diplomystus Hatchlings - Green River Formation
This is a slab of rock containing seven hatchlings of the fossil herring Diplomystus dentatus. It comes from the Green River Formation near Kemmerer, Wyoming. While Diplomystus can grow to large sizes of around 2 feet in length, these hatchlings are only about an inch long.
