DIPLOMYSTUS FOSSIL FISH FOR SALE
Diplomystus was a herring-like fish that lived in the early Eocene (about 50 million years ago) and was prolific in freshwater environments the world round. These fish are a staple of the finds in the Green River Formation and make quite the attractive fossil. These fish appear in the fossil record in a wide variety of sizes, from freshly-hatched fry to foot-long predators. Young individuals were recorded at just under an inch and hefty specimens can measure in at over 20 inches long. Most of the Green River specimens on the market are in the 3 to 8 inch range.
