Huge 14" Ammonite (Choffaticeras?) - Goulmima, Morocco
This is a huge 14" wide ammonite collected North of Goulmima, Morocco. These ammonites are Upper Cretaceous (Early Turonian Stage) in age. I believe the genus is Choffaticeras but, I'm not 100% certain, particularly given that the paper on these ammonites was written on much more poorly preserved examples than this specimen. While the inner whorls are nicely inflated, the outer ones exhibit some crushing, but it only adds to the character of the specimen.
