1.6" Early Cambrian Fallotaspis - Taroudant, Morocco
This is a beautiful, 1.6" long Fallotaspis from the Taroudant area of Morocco. I was able to acquire three specimens of these very rare trilobites when I was in Morocco this past fall. The Fallotaspis from Morocco are very poorly described and the ones that have been described were described off of parts so assigning them to a specific species is difficult.
This species is distinctly different from the Fallotaspis we have offered from Tazemmourt.. The spines are straight, not curved, it has a much smaller occipital spine, axial spines on all of the segments, etc.
This specimen has about 7% shell restoration where some of it split off onto the negative and fragments were lost.
