Huge 12.2" Coroniceras Ammonite - France

This is a stunning, 3D ammonite from Burgundy, France. This rare find over a foot wide, weighs nearly 16 pounds and has absolutely gorgeous preservation. This would be a very aesthetic and impressive display piece in any collection.

Unlike the widely available ammonites from Madagascar and Morocco, French ammonites are rarely seen on the market. This is the best of the batch I was able to recently acquire from the preparator in France.

There is some restoration, particularly in the very center and some stabilization on the back of the ammonite.
