Amazing Spiny Comura Trilobite - 2.5"

This is an outstanding example of one of the most impressively spiny trilobites there is, Comura bultyncki from Morocco. There is over 40 free standing spines on this specimen, and they eyes are very detailed. The preparation on a trilobite such as this would have taken on the order of 40-50 hours by a very skilled preparator. This specimen is much better than most of the Comura that you see for sale, many of which are heavily restored and have fake spines. At 2.5" long it's above average size for the species.

A number of the smaller free standing spines towards the back of the trilobite are composites but otherwise there isn't any significant restoration to this specimen.
