.72" Fossil Beetle (Caosoma?) - Bois d’Asson, France

This is a fossil beetle (order Coleoptera, Calosoma sp.?) collected from the Oligocene-aged deposits of Bois d'Asson, France. The light-brown preservation contrasts nicely against rock. This is part of an old collection that we recently acquired. Both haves of the impression are glued onto the plate.

This specimen comes with an acrylic display stand.
