Giant 7.5" Knightia Fossil Fish - Wyoming
This is a huge 7 1/2" long fossil fish of the genus Knightia from the Green River Formation of Wyoming. It's Eocene in age, approximately 45-50 million years old and is nicely preserved good sized slab of matrix. This comes from the 18 inch layer of the quarries near Kemmerer, Wyoming which produces much darker colored fossils than the split fish layers. These fish also take a lot more time to prepare.
