6.55" Pliocene Fossil Scallop (Chesapecten) - North Carolina
This is a beautiful fossil scallop (Chesapecten jeffersonius) half that was collected from the Pliocene age Yorktown Formation in Aurora, North Carolina. The surrounding rock has been completely cleaned away from the specimen. This specimen has quite a bit of glue stabilization and restoration done to it, but is still a very impressive fossil.
It comes with an acrylic display stand.
