2.3" Jurassic Fossil Bivalve (Myophorella) - Portugal
This is a beautifully inflated fossil bivalve (Myophorella lusitanica) of the Trigonia family, collected from the Jurassic deposits near Torres Vedras, Portugal. It is Late Jurassic, Kimmeridgian Stage in age, or approximately 150 million years old. The rock has been meticulously prepped away to exposed the fossil. Both valves are present on this specimen and it bears three dimensional preservation with no compression.
