5.8" Paleocene Leaf Fossil Plate - Montana
This is fossil leaf plate from the Fort Union Formation near Glendive, Montana. The plate features a 2.6" long unidentified leaf and a 1.75" wide Zizyphoides flabellum leaf. The orange preservation contrasts well against the shale, and many of the details in the leaves can be seen in good relief. There may be some touchups to the surface of the leaves portions of them flaked onto the negative during collection.
This specimen includes an acrylic display stand.
