5.8" Miocene Gastropod (Musashia) Fossil In Situ - Oregon

This is a 5.8" long miocene snail from the species, Musashia indurate. It was collected from the Astoria Formation of Lincoln County, Oregon. The gastropod has been prepared within the rock in which it was found. This rock is very hard and the level of detail present on the shell is impressive considering the difficulty of preparation.
